Which Portal Do You Need?
Before signing in, make sure you’re using the right portal for your plan type. Using the wrong portal will not show your plan information even if your credentials are correct.Not sure which plan type you have? Check your enrollment confirmation email or welcome letter — it lists your plan name and underwriter.
How to Sign In

Visit activate.uhc.com
Go to activate.uhc.com. You will be redirected to the HealthSafe ID sign-in page.

Select Your Portal
Choose the portal that matches your plan type from the options listed on the page.

Enter Your Credentials
Enter the username (email address) and password you set when creating your HealthSafe ID. Then click Sign In.

Complete Multi-Factor Authentication (if prompted)
If you have multi-factor authentication (MFA) enabled, enter the one-time code sent to your registered phone number or email address.
How to Register a New Account
If this is your first time signing in, you need to create a HealthSafe ID account before you can access any UHC member portal.1
Click Register
On the HealthSafe ID sign-in page, click Register or Create an account.

Provide Your Information
Enter your name, date of birth, and the email address you want to use as your username. You may also need your member ID or SSN for identity verification.

Create a Password
Choose a strong password that meets the requirements shown on screen (minimum length, uppercase letters, numbers, and symbols).

Verify Your Email
Check your inbox for a verification email from HealthSafe ID. Click the link inside to confirm your account.

Sign In
Return to the portal and sign in with your new credentials.
Reset Your Password
If you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset it at any time directly from the HealthSafe ID sign-in page without contacting member services.1

On the HealthSafe ID sign-in page, click Forgot Password or Need help signing in?

Enter Your Email
Enter the email address associated with your HealthSafe ID account.

Check Your Inbox
You’ll receive an email with a secure password reset link. Click the link — it expires after a short window (typically 15–30 minutes).

Set a New Password
Enter and confirm your new password. You’ll be signed in automatically after resetting.
Personal Representative Sign-In
If you are managing a UHC account on behalf of another member — such as a spouse, parent, or dependent — you can sign in as a personal representative:- Visit the personal representative portal
- Register with your own HealthSafe ID credentials
- Link to the member’s account using their member information
Account Security Tips
Protecting your HealthSafe ID account helps keep your health information private. Follow these best practices:- Never share your password with anyone, including UHC representatives
- Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) for added protection against unauthorized access
- Update your password regularly and avoid reusing passwords from other sites
- Sign out of the member portal when using a shared or public computer
- Monitor your account for unfamiliar activity — if you notice changes you didn’t make, contact member services immediately
HealthSafe ID is managed by UnitedHealth Group. If you need account support that cannot be resolved online, call the member services number on the back of your ID card.
